outlook 2010

The connection to Microsoft exchange is unavailable. Your network adapter does not have a default gateway.

I followed the http://support.microsoft.com/kb/913843 and found that RPC folder is missing from regedit. Later I tried to Fix-it but Fix-it doesn’t work on Servers. Finally, I put the exchange server IP address (any other IP also work ) in the default gateway and Voila! Outlook gets connected. Image

windows 8 developers preview

Posted by techsnapshots on March 23, 2012

I was pretty existed to use Hyper-V on windows 8 developers preview for my lab and  want to get rid of VMware workstation, VPC and Solaris virtual box due to many shortcomings . But the frustrating part of hyper-V is it does not support USB. Hyper-V isn’t quite handy when you need some data from USB drive to VMs for your lab requirements.

Workaround is:-

1. Create a VHD

2. Attach it to the host PC

3. Move the required data on VHD and disconnect it.

4. Attach the same VHD on your VMs running on Hyper-V

If you want to add more data from any other source. You need to t un-off the VM , disconnect the VHD . Attach the VHD and put more data on that.

Well, this is the workaround for the USB drive that I usually do.
